Wordpress Seo For Your Blog: Part 2

4. Permalink title: in the link title for each post the mouseover hint will state "permanent link to you post title" which can be shortened for more exact key wording or altered to be more on topic. I prefer to remove the white noise and have it be just the post title.

5. Rel="nofollow" tags on the links and admin related links, no point having non content related and off page links followed by spiders.

6. Enhance your permalinks and titles. In the index.php you will find 'the loop' which is right beneath <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>. This is where each post title will be generated. This is also where you readers eyes will be by default. Use this space to sell your best page or service. Right here you can easily slip a link to your newsletter, like "get the free updated newsletter". You will convert more with this extremely high "eye trafficked area" of the page. You can even enhance it further with "more about *post title* in our newsletter" link right beneath each post.

7. Use the conditional variables to create better use of advertising and promotion space. You can easily remove much of the white noise type of links from the sidebar on the post pages. While your homepage may need feed links and archives, you may not need them on every page. With use of conditional tags you can create a sidebar on internal pages that have only the essential navigation links and promotional links to give a person somewhere to go after opening and reading an article in your blog.
