What page size or how much text is best when trying to rank my website?
This has been studied and seems to vary from search engine to search engine. The general line of thinking we subscribe to is that the total count is unimportant when compared to the value of a good "text VS code" ratio. While I do not find the overall text word count to be crucial you must also not waste text on the wrong page! In this I mean that you should not be filling a long page of text if the topics on the page vary. The best strategy is to break a page up by theme and create seperate targeted pages for each theme. This is not a ranking trick as much as smart design for your users and the search engines.
